Toyota recalls 420000 vehicles in US, 550000 reported in USA Today.
Japanese auto maker Toyota Motor Corp. recalled about 420000 vehicles in USA and 550000 vehicles around the world in order to fix potential problem in the steering.
This recall will be applicable for Lexus vehicles and V-6 Toyota brands. The problem is in the crankshaft pulley in engines of these models. Through this recall Toyota proved again that it is more concerned on the customer’s safety and on the society.
Due to this defect engine’s outer ring can misalign with the inner ring. This steering issue would be fixed through this Toyota recall notice 2011. Recall models are Camry, Highlander, Sienna, Solara, Avalon, Highlander hybrid, ES330, RX330 and RX400h which are launched between 2004 to 2006.
Recall campaign will begin from January 2012. If at any time car owners get to notice abnormal noise in engine side then they are asked to fix immediate appointment to fix this problem.
Recently Toyota reported a quarterly profit of $1 billion which is down 19% and these faults and failures can account for this loss.
